Alan Ball and his team approached us to concept and create titles for his new episodic drama on HBO. We came up with an entirely new approach to television main title design. Working from the live action scenes, we created a series of graphic banded “in-between states”, somewhere between the rational world and the spiritual world - connecting directly the the larger themes of the show. A unique title was tailored to the opening scene of each episode.
